The exciting game of paintball comes to Carson City this weekend.

Carson High senior Steve Aviles, for his senior project, decided to help put on a two-day event at Centennial Park. Action will take place from 9 a.m. to

6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Aviles contacted Lawrence Kagawa and Shelly Ramacher of Reno Indoor Paintball Inc. to mentor the project. NV Reign, which plays under the Reno Indoor Paintball banner, is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the 5-man Division 3 category.

Action will be held on two fields. On the first field is "Speedball," which is the traditional field of inflated bunkers where players hide, shoot and try to advance against opposing players. The second field is a "Woodsball" which is set up in the wilderness where players use natural vegetation and terrain for cover.

The cost is $10 for all day admission if you have your own equipment. A full complement of rental equipment is available. All players must be at least 10 years old, and minors must have a parent or guardian present to sign the participation waiver.

There is a raffle, and proceeds will be split between Carson City Parks & Rec and to the NV Reign.
