LAUGHLIN (AP) - Police are investigating the discovery of a charred corpse in the driver's seat of a burned-out car outside the Colorado River resort town of Laughlin.

Las Vegas police Officer Marcus Martin says an officer on patrol found the car ablaze about 6 a.m. Sunday off Needles Highway near Pipeline Road.

The body was found after Clark County firefighters doused the fire. A gender and age weren't immediately apparent.

Martin says investigators couldn't immediately tell the license plate or vehicle identification numbers.

Las Vegas police patrol Laughlin, about 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas.
