TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - A lawyer representing three Americans jailed in Iran says his clients will meet their visiting mothers Thursday.
Sarah Shourd, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal were arrested along the Iraqi border in July, and Iran has accused them of spying. Their relatives reject the accusation and say they were hiking in Iraq's scenic north.
The mothers of the three Americans arrived in Tehran on Wednesday to try to secure their release.
Lawyer Masoud Shafii said Thursday that Iranian authorities told him the mothers "will definitely meet their children today."
Shafii was not told where the meeting would take place or how long it would last. Shafii said he is not authorized to accompany the mothers during the meetings.
Calls to the Iranian authorities were not immediately returned.
