Scouts wrap up season with high-flying fun

On Sunday Cub Scout Pack 341 held its final Pack meeting of the year at the model airstrip near the landfill east of Carson City.

All participants were fed hot dogs and hamburgers and side dishes brought by Scout parents. All in attendance enjoyed a flag ceremony led by Bear Scout Luke Bowler of Den 2. At the end of the singing of "The Star Bangled Banner" a rocket was launched, surprising the parents and scouts who looked upward as the rocket disappeared and then exploded high in the sky.

Following the flag and awards ceremony, all the scouts and some siblings and friends got to enjoy launching their own rockets they each built with their parents and fellow scouts.

It was what the following pictures tell ... lots of fun!
