Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I am a four term state assemblywoman, having represented Washoe County from 1998-2006. I have over 30 endorsements from nation-wide conservative individuals and organizations, including: The Club for Growth, Gun Owners of America, the TEA Party Express, Citizens United, and conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

Job creation is the most important issue facing the nation and our state at this time. The federal government needs to cut taxes and spending to foster economic growth and job creation.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

I have the proven track record of conservative principles. As a courageous act, I took on then-Gov. Kenny Guinn in 2003 when he tried to increase our taxes by a record-setting $836 million. I sued the Legislature when it tried to suspend the state Constitution to pass those taxes. In Washington, I will be a tireless advocate for the taxpayers of Nevada.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I have worked for eight years in the state Legislature as a constitutional conservative, people have trusted my experience and my voting record. My district is the largest in the state and covers both big city, and rural Nevada.

I am a 30-year Las Vegas resident and my wife and I have raised 5 children in Nevada.

I am a small businessman who knows what it takes to create jobs and build a business.

I also know how to listen to my constituents. I have done this for eight years in my current office and will continue to do so.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

Illegal immigration is first on my list. I have proposed that Nevada enact a law similar to Arizona¹s. I have been endorsed by the author of that bill.

Fix the illegal immigration problem and return jobs to those who are here legally and we solve many of our financial problems. Nevada spends $700 million a year having to care for those who are here illegally. In other states, the numbers are much higher. America needs to care for Americans first. We cannot afford the high cost of illegal immigration.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

I am the best candidate to beat Harry Reid. I win tough elections. This will be a very tough campaign against Reid. I won in 2008 when every other Republican in the state in a Democratic district lost. I have been elected in four straight general elections. My opponents in this campaign either haven¹t run for public office, or are on losing streaks.

Plus, you know how I will vote in Washington, D.C. because of how I have voted in Carson City. I am the only candidate in this race with a current conservative voting record.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

My background consists of working as a teacher, an award-winning journalist, one term as a Nevada state senator and over two decades as a businesswoman. I have excelled in each of my chosen professions and will continue that as our next U.S. senator.

In the Nevada state Legislature, I served as Senate majority whip and the chairman of the Senate Taxation Committee. Throughout my legislative service, I was well known as an ardent supporter of low taxes on Nevada's working families and a fierce proponent of responsible state spending. My work in office earned me the Guardian of Small Business award from the Nevada chapter of the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB), Senator of the Year award from the Clark County Republican Party, the Woman of the Year award by the Republican Women of Las Vegas and the Lifetime Achievement award by the Republican Women of Henderson.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

Our country is in dire financial shape and the only way out is to limit what the federal government does. The government cannot, and should not, create jobs. Jobs are a function of the private sector. The best way to get out of the mess we are in is to get out of the way of the private sector. We need to encourage entrepreneurs instead of taxing and regulating them out of the country.

To accomplish this I would sponsor a balanced budget amendment and a restructuring of our tax code. I will support either the fair tax or the flat tax. I would propose the elimination of the death tax and lowering of business tax and the personal income tax. Then I would support the elimination of all duplicate services and the privatization of all services that are available in the private sector.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

I am the most effective and qualified candidate in this race. All of us are conservatives but the voters of Nevada need to decide who can beat Harry Reid. When I ran for state Senate in 1992 I was told it was impossible to win. I went on to win that race and defeated the sitting Senate Majority Leader of the Nevada Senate. I won that race in a district that the pundits said was impossible.

I have stood up to special interests and fought for my business against the most powerful special interest group in Nevada. I never flinched. No other candidate has stood this test. No other candidate has had to step over protestors to get to work. No other candidate has had to face the onslaught I have already withstood.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I have lived in Las Vegas for 25 years. I have been married for almost 30 years to my wife, Sheri. We have five children - four daughters and one son. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. I received an M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1985.

I served three terms as a Nevada state assemblyman from 2002 to 2008. The last term I served as the minority leader. I also served as assistant minority leader during my second term. I also served as president of the Clark County Medical Society.

As a physician, I have unique experiences that will help me serve in the U.S. Senate.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

We all need to be personally responsible for our own lives and not be dependent on the government. We reap what we sow. We need less government intervention in the economy with lower government spending, which will lead to an improvement in the economy and job growth.

Regarding medical care, it is my opinion that the new health care bill will not work and will not save our country any money but make matters worse. I agree that changes do need to be made. Health insurance should be treated just like every other insurance. I would do away with employer paid health insurance and allow persons and families to purchase insurance that is portable. I would do away with insurance mandates, which only drive up the cost of insurance for all of us. I do support certain regulations on health insurance companies.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

I'm running to try to make a difference. I don't like the direction our country is going. If elected I would vote to discontinue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is my opinion, that our large military presence in those countries only makes matters worse.

I do support the use of drone planes and special forces in those areas. We could save our country trillions of dollars by making changes in military spending. I support our military and don't agree with how we treat them. Many are required to serve multiple tours, which is great hardship on them and their families. More servicemen have died from suicide after returning than during their tours.

Bill Parson

Mailing Address: Parson for Senate 2010

P.O. Box 609, Moapa, NV 89025

Telephone: 702-285-3822 or 702-672-9074

E-mail: parsonforsenate2010@msn.com

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

Bill Parson is a constitutionally conservative Republican who has been a resident of Nevada for over 22 years. He has both Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees. He served 23 years with the Marine Corps where he had extensive overseas assignments, including a tour with the Department of State. For 11 years, he managed numerous complex Department of Energy multi-million dollar projects where he was responsible for concept development, engineering design, estimating, operating budgets, execution and closeout, as well as all projects being executed on time and within budget. He is the only candidate with extensive practical experience and expertise in foreign relations, military capabilities and requirements, counter terrorism, intelligence, business, energy independence, and technology.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

Problems facing the United States are directly attributable to our federal government's failure to operate within the enumerated powers contained within our Constitution, and from the usurpation of powers reserved to the 50 sovereign states and "we the people."

Addressing these problems requires:

• Identify and repeal abusive and intrusive federal legislation (examples include the Health Care Bill and pending Cap & Trade legislation)

• Stop all deficit spending, pay down the national debt, enforce immigration policies, abolish federal policies exporting American jobs overseas

• Constitutional Amendments

• Congressional Term Limits (House four terms & Senate two terms)

• Repeal 16th Amendment, abolish the IRS, and implement the FAIR Tax

• Ensure Supreme Court justices and judges adhere to original constitutional intent, add the words "protect and defend the constitution" to judicial oaths of office.

• Establish true U.S. energy independence using all available U.S. energy sources, without federal subsidies

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

Nevadans have grown to mistrust professional politicians who create the environment where influence, favor, and self-serving actions prevail, then advocate for taxpayers to foot the bill. Resolving challenges facing our nation can no longer be left to professional politicians, those who seek to continually climb the ladder from one political office to another as they pursue power.

Instead, today's challenges are best resolved by those who've proven themselves with their fellow citizens and seek to be citizen legislators representing their community for a short period, returning after a few years to allow another worthy representative to continue in their place.

I have never before run for political office, but have the skills, knowledge, and determination to represent the best interests of Nevada and our nation as a statesman.

CCSN Associates; University Nevada, Las Vegas, political science major and business minor.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

I am like most individuals concerned with the direction of our country. Our platform is a smaller, less intrusive government with our focus on reducing the deficit spending and the national debt load we now carry.

As your voice in Washington we will offer solutions to the massive spending that has eroded the quality of life for all citizens in our nation. We will offer legislation that reduces the ability of our elected officials to spend what they don't have. We will stop borrowing 43 cents out of every dollar to start.

As your voice in Washington we will not vote on one bill that raises your taxes one red cent. We will reduce the size of the federal government by closing agencies that have duplicate functions and massive payrolls. We will not fund pork barrel spending to get bills to pass. Those days will be over once elected. As your voice in Washington, I will present a bill that stops the bribery by making it illegal to add any item in a bill that has nothing to do with the original content.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

As your voice in Washington I will represent you, the citizens of the great state of Nevada, and not special interest groups.

I will not take one red cent of campaign contributions from those organizations.

We will go to Washington with no one in our back pockets except the citizens of Nevada.

Finally, as your Senator I will listen to my constituents concerning the issues.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

Undergraduate degree from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Law degree from University of San Diego.

Rhodes Scholar candidate, All-American honorable mention (basketball), University of San Diego, Law Review.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

My political philosophy is based on constitutional conservatism and liberty.

Government expansion and overregulation contradicts genuine conservative values and the intent of the founders. Believing the individual knows what is best; the greatest liberty is felt when one can determine his or her own needs, deciding what definition of quality of life suits them, and pursue his or her own goals with the natural autonomy of an individual.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

I believe in limited government and I firmly oppose the government takeover of private sector industries. As a small business owner and experienced real estate developer, I believe the government does more to stifle the success and freedom of the individual when it steps in, binding the spirit of entrepreneurship and contradicting the free market principles that made our country great. Therefore, I believe in a smaller government that - with some occasional help - leaves the average person free to achieve his or her ambitions.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

As a native Nevadan, my roots in this state run deep. I have been a pediatrician for over 30 years, a Navy veteran, a small business owner and most importantly, have raised my family in this great state.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

Now is the time for action on many fronts as we must deal with problems put off for decades. That action will require all Americans to think, communicate, and put their political differences aside to find a common purpose to effectively deal with two wars, energy independence, health care, climate change and our damaged economy.

I believe that the solutions to these problems are possible. These solutions will require innovative thinking, compromise and most importantly, the members of Congress to place country ahead of party. Our state's Congressional leadership has not demonstrated these qualities and they have failed to put the country ahead of their political ideology.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

I place the people of Nevada ahead of party politics. I believe that Nevada must free itself from the influence of career politicians and special interest groups. We need to see a rebirth of the innovation, sacrifice, patience and teamwork that made this country great.

I believe in this country and I believe that we can change the Congress from its gridlock of politics as usual to a body that works to solve our problems fairly and constructively. I will work tirelessly to convince all members that we are there to put the country and its people first. I will also introduce and support legislation with those goals in mind and the well-being of the American people as my goal.

DEAN HELLER

Residence: Carson City, Nevada

Mailing address: P.O. Box 7237

Reno, NV 89516-7237

Telephone: 775-827-20

Website: www.deanheller.com

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

U.S. Congressman Dean Heller was elected as Nevada's representative for the Second Congressional District on November 7, 2006, and is seeking his third term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, specializing in finance and securities analysis, from the University of Southern California in 1985.

Prior to serving in Congress, Dean Heller served two terms in Nevada's Assembly and three terms as Nevada's Secretary of State. Heller currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, which is one of only four exclusive committees in the U.S. House of Representatives.

As the policy chair of the Western Caucus, Heller continues to provide strong leadership for Nevada on issues such as private property rights, mining, public lands access and wildfire prevention. Heller has also been appointed as a deputy whip and assigned to the Republican Policy Committee by the House Leadership Team.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

My No. 1 priority in Congress is to turn our nation's economy around and get Nevadans back to work. Despite claims that unemployment would not rise above 8 percent if the stimulus bill passed, millions of jobs have been lost and thousands of Nevadans are out of work since its passage. Raising taxes and growing government is not the answer to fixing our economy. Congress should adopt pro-growth policies that expand tax relief across the board and allow Americans to keep more of what they earn. Many of the government policies today are standing in the way of innovation, growth and economic recovery. Capitalism is the foundation of America's prosperity and Congress should remember the principles that made our nation great.

Growing government, increasing taxes, and discouraging investment impedes economic recovery. Curbing out-of-control spending and balancing the budget should be a top priority for Congress.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

While Congress and the administration has continued to waste taxpayer funds on bailouts, stimulus bill, and programs such as Cash for Clunkers, Nevadans have struggled to keep their businesses open and their homes out of foreclosure.

It is time that more than lip service is paid to controlling government spending. The only thing that follows record debt and spending are record tax increases. By reigning in government spending and keeping taxes low, we can have a stronger economy, get Nevadans back to work, and get our nation moving in the right direction

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

A native Nevadan, Jim Gibbons was born and raised in Sparks. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from the University of Nevada, Reno and a master's degree in mining/geology from the School of Mines. Gibbons later earned his Juris Doctorate from southwestern University of Law and completed post-graduate work at the University of Southern California.

He served in the Air Force from 1967 to 1971, graduating from the Air Command and Staff College, as well as the Air War College. Gibbons then joined the Air Guard in 1975, attaining the rank of colonel, and served as the group's vice commander from 1990-1996.

Gibbons served three terms in the Legislature and rose through the ranks to become Republican Whip of the Assembly. First elected to Nevada's House of Representatives in 1996, Gibbons left after five terms to make a successful run for governor in 2006.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

Gibbons believes in a common-sense approach to government. He is committed to fostering economic growth while ensuring Nevadans are not burdened with new taxes. As a second-term governor, he will focus on three key issues: The economy, energy and education. Nevada's future lies in bolstering our position as the world's finest business and vacation destination.

Secondly, with an abundance of natural resources within our borders, Nevada can, should and will be the renewable energy capital of our country. Nevada is at the forefront of producing wind, solar and geothermal power. Nevada is well on its way to implement Gibbons' plan for energy independence. Lastly, Gibbons sponsored Nevada's "Education First" ballot initiative, which ensures education will be funded before any other part of the state budget. Education of Nevada's children will remain a top priority. He will continue to support the funding necessary to educate tomorrow's scholars and leaders.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

Gibbons continues to fight on the federal level against the federal national take-over of our health care system at no cost to Nevadans. He has proven he has the experience of real leadership Nevadans need at this most crucial time as we fight our way out of these difficult economic times. Gibbons is a real leader for Nevada. He took an oath to serve in 1967 and has never quit and will continue to work for all Nevadans.

BRIAN SANDOVAL

Email: rain@briansandoval.com

Website: http://www.briansandoval.com

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

B.A., University of Nevada in 1986 ;J.D., The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1989. A former federal judge, Brian Sandoval has served as Nevada's attorney general, and as a member and chairman of Nevada Gaming Commission, which oversees Nevada's gaming industry. At age 35, Sandoval was the youngest person ever to serve as the state's chief gaming regulator. Sandoval also served for three years as Nevada's at-large member of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency governing board. The TRPA is a bi-state agency that governs land use policies at Lake Tahoe. Before his Gaming Commission and TRPA appointments, Sandoval served two terms in the Nevada Legislature.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

As the only candidate in the race for governor to offer a plan to solve Nevada's short-term budget deficit without raising taxes, without deficit spending and without mass layoffs, I am committed to not raising taxes. I believe that it's time Nevada does what families and businesses across our great state have already done, and that's cut back. I oppose a corporate income tax, which will kill Nevada jobs and weaken our ability to compete for new businesses.

As attorney general, I returned money to the general fund and as governor, I'll do it again by fighting to pass state spending caps that rein in government spending. I oppose any plan that encourages or excuses illegal immigration and I support the Arizona immigration law.

As attorney general, I set up the first public integrity unit to investigate and prosecute officials who violated our trust. I've strengthened Nevada's laws against domestic violence, drug abuse and human trafficking and I support capital punishment as a deterrent to crime. I oppose gay marriage and will work to preserve the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

I believe limited government is the best government and will fight for states' rights. There will be tough decisions ahead, but I believe that together, we can get Nevada working again.

Throughout his career, Sandoval has received several awards and certificates, including the Hispanics in Politics' 1996 "Broche de Oro Award", the Anti-Defamation League's 2003 "Torch of Liberty Award," the Nevada State Bar's 2004 "Access to Justice Public Lawyer Award," the Latino Coalition's 2004 "Most Influential Hispanic in the U.S. Award" and the 2004 University of Nevada "Alumnus of the Year Award." In May 2010, Sandoval received the "Excellence in Leadership" award from the Latino Coalition.

As attorney general, I returned money to the general fund and as governor, I'll do it again by fighting to pass state spending caps that rein in government spending.

LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR

BRIAN KROLICKI

E-mail: Brian2010@briankrolicki.com

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I was elected lieutenant governor in 2006. I serve as the chairman of the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. Our efforts attracted new and exciting businesses to Nevada, creating and retaining almost 13,000 jobs and bringing $1.3 billion in new investment during my term in office. I'm also the chairman of the Commission on Tourism, where I have led successful efforts to expand non-gaming related tourism to our state. I serve as the vice chairman of the Nevada Department of Transportation and the chairman of the Reno-Tahoe Winter Games Coalition, a group dedicated to retuning the Winter Olympic Games to Lake Tahoe. I was formerly a Douglas County Planning Commissioner from 1991-1998.

I am the current chairman of the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association. Nominated to serve as a member of the United States Intergovernmental Policy Advisory Committee on Trade under the past two presidential administrations.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

A strong educational system has always been a cornerstone of my public service and, in my opinion, of Nevada's future. One of the most effective means of ensuring continued prosperity is by investing in our children.

As treasurer, I worked to make sure that young Nevadans could attend college by creating the College Savings Plans, the Nevada Prepaid Tuition Program and building the Millennium Scholarship Program.

Working toward improving and diversifying our economy and strengthening our education system will not be possible if our public sector does not operate efficiently and wisely. I believe we need to continue cutting unnecessary expenditures through a careful analysis of the state's budget. As lieutenant governor, I will continue to bring new and good jobs to our state and fight for education so that we may continue to live in a place we are proud to call home.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position.

B.A. in communications from Annenberg School at Temple University, Philadelphia. Worked as a surgical nurse and attended law school.

Thirty years as successful business owner, creating hundreds of jobs, and negotiating hundreds of successful transactions. We grew our business to become one of the largest lighting equipment companies in the U.S.

As vice president, I did everything from start-up financing to acquisition and mergers. We transitioned out of our business in 2007, and opened Art de Vignettes in 2003. In 2008, we began our charity, The Bruce and Barbara Lee Foundation, which benefits children and the arts.

All of these positions have prepared me to take the lead in recovering Nevada's economy.

What are the important issues that you would address if elected?

I know what it will take to restore our economic prosperity and I have proven skills to do just that. The role of lieutenant governor has been ignored. The primary function is to oversee and facilitate economic development. My main goals are to ensure Nevada's jobs return, build Nevada's economic viability throughout diversification, and restore Nevada's economy as one of growth.

As Nevada's lieutenant governor, I will chair the boards of tourism and economic development, and vice chair the Board of Transportation and be a member of the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Task Force. I will make Nevada business friendly by working to eliminate destructive taxes and regulations, instead offering aggressive incentives. I will create jobs by attracting new industries in energy, film, technology, and transportation.

Nevada needs a qualified ambassador to these industries. I will never let companies like Boeing Aircraft skip over our state when they are looking for a new headquarters.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

I will return the appropriate measure of respectability, accountability, transparency, viability, and leadership to the office of lieutenant governor needed to properly represent our great state.

STATE CONTROLLER

GREGORY NANCE DAGANI

Mailing address: 5844 Reeves Springs Avenue

Las Vegas, NV 89131

Telephone: 702-409-7206

E-mail: newcreation10506@aol.com

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I owned a bookkeeping service in Salt Lake City, Utah, where various CPAs worked for my service. I have in the past been an elected member of the state board of education where I helped the American Bible Society get the Bible a study material number so children can study the Bible as an elective in school if their parents want them to. To this day, I have numerous people who became my close friends when I was on the board because I can do my work as a supervisor and at the same time keep the people under me as close friends when I had finished the work I had been elected to do. I registered because I'm not interested in retiring from public office. I'd like to accomplish things for the citizens of Nevada and run out the time for retirement.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

The chief fiscal officer for Nevada is a position that affects all the citizens of Nevada because you, as a state controller, are to keep an eye on state revenue coming in and going out. If there is not enough coming in, you go to the elected representatives that vote on how much revenue each department gets, and inform them of the situation at hand and offer any ideas you have to fix the problem. I favor the idea that my wife came up with to bring in $750 million yearly for K-12 education - that being a state lottery system.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

Unlike the current state controller, I would have an open door policy for all citizens of Nevada. I would have forms that everyone could understand. The current state controller has and uses forms a CPA can't understand. When we had the recent deficit, she sent her aid to meet with the governor. We elect the state controller to go to these kinds of meetings. She was asleep at the wheel and didn't go. I would go in my spare time. I want to work to put prayer back into school like I did with getting the Bible a study material number so it could be studied in school as an elective.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I am a 20-year Nevada resident. I was raised in New Jersey and moved to California where I began working at Imodco, an international company in the oil industry, as a staff accountant. After several years, my wife, daughter and I moved back to New Jersey where I worked for a manufacturing and distribution company.

When the recession began in New Jersey, we moved to Las Vegas where my wife's parents retired.

Upon arrival I worked as a controller, enrolled at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. While working at the international accounting firm McGladrey and Pullen, I obtained my CPA certification. I have since worked as a CPA in Nevada and am currently the president of the Nevada Society of CPAs-Las Vegas chapter, member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and former Adjunct Professor at UNLV.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

As a fiscal conservative and a CPA the most important issue I would address is how to spend less and get more for each dollar spent. Without raising current taxes or implementing new taxes, as many would allude to, I would find ways to cut needless spending just as my clients and I do with their businesses. My job as a CPA is to help my clients prosper and succeed and I would continue to use my professional expertise in the position as state controller.

Nevada has been a land of opportunity for millions who moved here or who were born and raised here. My goal is to once again help bring Nevada to the level of its past prosperity and even beyond. Through fiscal responsibility, ethical business practices and a diverse economy Nevada can rebound, and be a great place to work and retire without extreme tax burdens.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

Because I have an extensive business background as well as being a CPA, I will offer the state government my business acumen. By the nature of the job, it is vital that the state controller be an experienced CPA. With my background as a CPA and in the private sector, experience in national and international business in various positions including as a controller and cost accountant, I am familiar with state business regulations and I know how to review and understand financial reports, which the state generates. With this knowledge, as state controller I will come to the table prepared and experienced. In this economic environment the people of Nevada need and deserve an educated and experienced business person looking out for their welfare. With my experience and conservative spending practices, I will help turn this economy.

ATTORNEY GENERAL

TRAVIS BARRICK

Phone number: 702-351-7422 cell

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I believe that Nevadans are capable of electing a person that has the expertise and experience to enforce the laws of Nevada in a way that is fair for one and fair for all. That person is me. I have a juris doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where I completed elective courses in, among others, administrative law, land use law, local government law and the federal courts. I have a master's degree in public administration from National University in San Diego, where I completed courses in organizational behavior, managerial economics and contract negotiations.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

At this point in time, illegal immigration presents a most interesting and pivotal legal issue. Nevada's historic growth market is predicated upon population growth and development. Thus, Nevada should continue to encourage legal immigration; however, the lack of comprehensive national immigration reform has put the states, particularly those in the Southwest, in the unenviable position of needing to address and expedite solutions for local concerns as the federal government works to resolve the issue nationally. Other pressing legal issues include water use and resources, health care, and the nuclear waste depository.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

As far as I can tell, the incumbent has never worked in the private sector. I believe her actions reveal an out-of-touch attitude towards the citizens and businesses of Nevada.

Regarding my opponent in the GOP primary, other than the fact that he was a Democrat until last December, I respect his self-characterization as a fighter and advocate for his clients. In my view, however, there are times when aggression is not the optimal approach to bring to the table. I consider myself a fair and unbiased person, with years of experience in complex, multi-party negotiations. As such, I favor the approach of a statesman, rather than that of an aggressive, polarizing advocate for one side or the other.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

The state of Nevada deserves an attorney general that will fairly enforce the laws of this great state. While one must be partisan to become attorney general, the office should not be partisan; it must be issue driven.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

Accountability in government, defense of the Constitution and advocacy for the citizens of Nevada are three critical tasks of the AG's office. The incumbent has failed on all three.

I have watched her refusal to embrace these concepts. I have also seen the poor quality of work product that has come from her office. We deserve better. Criticism can only go so far. I have criticized - now it is time to act.

First elected by the constituents of Assembly District 39 in 2006. Douglas High graduate. Received a California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, bachelor of science in agricultural science/education. Attended Concord Law School, graduate National Conference of State Legislators Legislative Academy. Graduate Council of State Government Western Leadership Academy. Carson Valley Conservation District secretary, then chairman. Appointed to the Nevada State Conservation Commission. Elected as the vice chairman the first year, and chairman the second. Received the outstanding young Nevada farmer award in 2003. U. S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency County Committee vice-chairman. In the Legislature, serves on the Commerce and Labor, Governmental Affairs, and Election Procedures and Constitutional Amendments committees. Serves on the Senior and Veterans study committee, and the Blue Ribbon Property Tax Committee.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

In these economic times the government, like the people of this great state, is having to do more with less. This is not the time to increase taxes on the people, it is time to find ways to help them.

The state needs to evaluate all of its programs and establish if they are meeting their objectives and eliminate or modify ones that are not. The government waste that exists cannot be tolerated and must be discussed whether it is benefiting corporations, unions, or the bureaucracy itself. I and my colleagues already have bills that seek to address these issues.

The best government is like a good insurance policy. It costs you money from time to time. It's there for you in bad times and in the good times you don't know it exists. In that vein, I feel government involvement in private affairs should be minimal at most.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

Government size must be kept in check. I did this last legislative session and plan on doing it again, if chosen by the citizens of the Capital Senate District. We must preserve our natural resources. My actions on the state conservation commission and local conservation district, and endorsement by the Nevada Conservation League combined with my knowledge of water resources will allow me to protect our communities' and state's limited resources.

Currently I own a small business that specializes in the alternative energy sector, prior to that I ran a service division for a co-generation power company. We moved to Nevada after retiring from the United States Air Force in 2001.

I was raised and later reinforced in the Air Force that there are things more important than yourself. I am not running for power, prestige or money. I am running for my kids, your kids, and our neighbor's kids. The Air Force does a very good job of teaching you how to think "out of the box." During the special session I talked to many elected politicians and I came to realize that most, if not all, either have no political desire to fix this mess or are incapable of coming up with the ideas necessary for the fix.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

We currently spend over $800 million a year on illegal aliens. We have an unemployment rate of 13 percent, yet 12.2 percent of our work force is illegal aliens. We should enact E-Verify immediately.

The federal government overstepping its power as granted to it by the states. The state governments remain the only true "check and balance" concerning the federal government abusing its powers. The states have been derelict and must reassert themselves if we are to remain a constitutional republic.

The state's financial health. The first thing we must do is stabilize the real estate market. I have a plan that will work. Then, with common sense and pro business teamwork we can begin bringing thousands of high-paying jobs to Nevada in the energy, refining, mining and nuclear fields. I also believe the Douglas-Reno corridor is prime for becoming the new Silicon Valley.

Why should voters choose you the other candidates?

I am a pro-life candidate. However I am not running against someone as much as for something. I think the state needs real leadership that is willing to address these issues regardless of the political ramifications. We need state leaders who are willing to fight the federal government when the latter oversteps its Constitutional authority. Finally, we need leaders who will put Nevadans at the head table.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I grew up in Nevada Senate District 4, graduated from Wooster High School, attended Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno. I've traveled across the United States, and different parts of the world, living in three different countries before the age of 16. I can say with confidence, Senate District 4 is one of the best places in the world to live.

I've worked in a variety of industries, specializing in broadcasting for 25 years, and then starting several of my own businesses in advertising, computer networking, real estate, and strategic development in the Reno-Sparks area, helping to create over 50 local jobs.

My family, just like yours, came to Nevada for opportunities, and it doesn't matter if your family came to Nevada 50 years ago, or 150 years ago, or last week, now is the time to expand those opportunities, instead of looking backward.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

I am bringing 10 issues to the Nevada Senate called The Top 10 In 2010 (www.TheTop10In2010.com). Through this combination of policies we can get Nevada back to work again, and I believe, on the road to a much brighter future.

1. Lower Nevada taxes - eliminate payroll tax. 2. New jobs - broad economic development. 3. Effective education. 4. SAGE commission permanency. 5. Government consolidation, efficiency. 6. Reapportionment, more representation. 7. No on SJR2 - retain election of judges. 8. Pass AJR2- reaffirm 10th Amendment. 9. STAR Bond equalization. 10. Constitutional legislative ethics reform, apply open meeting law.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

I will put the time and energy needed to represent the Carson City area that is a part of Nevada Senate District 4 with a strong voice. One of the strongest points I've heard from voters is they want the economy turned around so there are more jobs, and they want to be "left alone" to live their lives, something I believe in and will protect.

I'm the easiest and friendliest of all the candidates, something you'll appreciate when it comes time to express your opinion on something important to you.

I am a Reagan conservative, literally. I was raised in the political philosophy of Ronald Reagan while my father worked for him as his special assistant for national security affairs. I believe in a limited, efficient government and I have voted that way as a state assemblyman. I believe in a low tax burden, minimum government interference, and the freedom to conduct our business and our private lives as we deem fit.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

I have introduced bills to limit the size of bureaucracy in our school districts, to prohibit state benefits to illegal immigrants, to demand accountability and competition in our education system, and I have voted against government largesse and overspending.

Perhaps most important, I have not been afraid to speak out against the things with which I've disagreed including the largest tax increase in Nevada state history. I encouraged the governor in 2007 to form the Spending and Government Efficiency Commission which produced a number of cost-saving initiatives which should now be addressed by the Legislature.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

I am the only candidate with Legislative experience, but I believe that I also have the right kind of experience for the state Senate - a proven responsible conservative record.

I have been praised as a taxpayer advocate because I have been in the fight on behalf of my constituents' conservative ideals, not just talked about it in a campaign.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

As a former journalist covering government and politics, my professional integrity relied on thinking critically about complicated issues and ensuring all ideas were presented before making decisions. I believe that's something we need more of in the Nevada Legislature.

Following my journalism career I worked in public affairs and advertising in Reno before going to work for the Governor, where I served as a member of his senior staff. This inside view of state policy from the highest level of government gives me a broad base of knowledge that will serve me well in the Senate.

Currently a state employee, I have agreed to resign following my election to maintain the Constitutional tenet of separation of powers, but that experience has shown me how budgets are built from the ground up and where the rubber hits the road with policy decisions made by the Legislature.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

First off, we must focus on passing a balanced budget that protects the businesses that will hire people out of the current recession. This should be done by prioritizing government services, eliminating those that are no longer necessary or affordable and streamlining those that can achieve greater efficiency.

As a father of two sets of young twins, the quality of education is incredibly important to me and my wife. I believe in the empowerment model of education, giving greater authority to individual schools and teachers to decide how best to educate rather than relying on administrators far removed from the classroom. I am also a strong advocate of empowering parents to make more choices about their children's education. Easing the creation of charter schools is an important way to do this. Additionally, we must ensure we evaluate the success of schools and teachers by the success of our children.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

In the end, I believe this election comes down leadership and the quality of the person the voters want representing them in the Legislature. I offer the voters of Washoe District 4 a strong, conservative voice that will be a champion for them and protect them from the overreach of government. As importantly, I can do this while also being effective. I am raising my family here in northern Nevada, and the future of our state is very important to me. I will always fight for what is best for the families and businesses of northern Nevada.

I am a retired secondary history and government teacher, having taught for 35 years. I am and have been a community activist working for civil rights and equal protection of the citizens of Nevada. I have sued the government for access to public lands illegally taken for private self-serving purposes.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

Fixing the states economic problems. Turning around the economic failures of our past legislatures. Stopping the wasteful spending

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

I am not a career politician. I am running with one purpose - to fix the problems caused by career politicians and candidates who have self-serving special interests. I am the only candidate running in for the state Senate in District 4 who has the knowledge, experience, and background to turn the state's economy around.

Telephone: 1-775-690-2419

E-mail: garygaldwill@earthlink.net

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

My qualifications for this office are many and varied; I am a conservative small businessman who has always worked in the private sector, and know that in order for the government to be effective for its citizens, it needs to be operated more like an effective "not-for-profit" business. I am not saying that I have always been successful in all of my business ventures, but through common sense decisions about my failures, I have learned when to cut bait and start over. It is time to cut bait and start over at a state government level, the system as it is, is failing, and I believe that this observation alone qualifies me to serve the constituents of my district.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

I believe the budget and its projected shortfall will be the most important issue facing this state. The state government has grown too much too fast. The budget has grown from $4 billion in 1999 to approximately $7.6 billion in 2009 with a population increase of only 35 percent. I believe that we need some accountability for expenditures.

I would also like to see red tape cut to encourage new businesses. We have to be the most business friendly state in the country; we went from being the No. 1 most business friendly state before the last session to No. 6 currently. Small business will be the venue to pull our economy out of the dump, and it needs to be reassured that when they move here, or start up here, they will not be thought of as hosts for the parasitic government to bleed dry.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

The voters should choose me because I am honest, have integrity, and will "try" to do what I say, I place quotes around my "try" because I am conservative and believe that the majority party will try to block any positive change on government reform. Remember; "The Bluer the State, The Redder the Budget." This can be seen throughout the country and what is happening with liberal states. It is time for good old-fashioned conservative ideas and philosophies to come back into vogue.

I have served as your assemblyman for four two-year terms. I served as the mayor of Yerington for about 10 years and have been on the City Council. I also served as executive director of the Nevada League of Cities representing all cities in Nevada.

I have a banking background as a manager and ag. banker. My experience and my committee assignments at the Legislature will be of benefit to our district. My involvement in numerous local and state projects such as committees on economic development, water issues and education will be of benefit to the district and the state.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

The two biggest issues will be the budget (I serve on the Ways and Means Committee) and reapportionment. Budget will be of great importance to all Nevadans in this down economy. We must work with our business communities to jump start the economy to produce jobs. Government can't solve the fiscal problems; private enterprise making investments in our state will produce jobs and turn the housing market around. We must work with them, not add more burdensome taxes to their problems.

Why should voters choose you over other candidates?

My experience, my knowledge of the job, my past record of working for the district and the state and my willingness to continue to serve the people in a fair, conservative manner as a legislator.

I have been in finance working with multimillion-dollar projects and large business ventures since 1996. My family has owned and operated businesses since 1980. I have the high end fiscal experience to help Northern Nevada back into a balanced budget.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

I have signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and will fight any proposals for new taxes. Education needs to be torn down and rebuilt to help our children compete globally for jobs. Creation of new and high-paying sustainable jobs that diversify our traditional dependence on gaming and tourism

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

I have the educational and professional experience to be the best voice of the people. I am young, energetic, intelligent and ready to fight for what's right for the people of District 40 to get our local economy back on track and provide a bright future for our children.

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I have a proven track record of commen-sense conservative leadership.

During my time on the Board of Supervisors and Carson Tahoe Hospital board, I have put the citizens of our community first each and every day. I have safeguarded taxpayer dollars and have worked to keep government efficient and effective at providing the vital services we depend on. I've started and run a number of successful small businesses in our community. And I am a 50-year resident of this community. My wife Laurie and I have raised our three children here. Our grandchildren live here and I want to see Nevada remain a place where they are able to have a future as bright and promising as possible. Nevada is my home and I am determinined to make sure its best days are yet to come.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

First and foremost I would focus on getting our economy moving again.

We're in the midst of the worst economic downturn in multiple generations and we in office need to focus on putting people back to work. We also need to give our young people a quality education. If we fail to give our state's future generations a solid and firm foundation in life via a top-notch education, then we have not done our jobs as responsible citizens.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

I have proven, real-world experience creating jobs. Having started my own succesful businesses years ago I have the knowledge and expertise to help get Nevada's economy back on track I will bring my private sector leadership to the Assembly and be a strong voice for small businesses and job creation After 35 years as a small business owner and 12 years on the Carson City Board of Supervisors, I know I have the expertise to see Nevada through the current economic crisis. To be successful, the next Nevada Legislature needs leaders who have proven themselves worthy of the public's trust. I am the only candidate in this race with both business and policy knowledge to help rebuild Nevada..

LYNDA UPTON

Mailing Address: 1711 Wellington

West Carson City, NV 89703

Telephone: 883-9398

Cell Number: 742-7514

Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are seeking.

I have lived in Carson City for 22 years. I am a product of the public school system from elementary school through high school; graduating from Carson High in 1997. I continued my public education at the University of Nevada where I played four years for the women¹s golf team and was an Academic All-American in 2001, the same year I graduated with a degree in marketing.

I am concerned about the direction that the state is headed. I have no political experience, but common sense. This is what will help me represent my Carson City constituents and bring the government back to the people and not to those who seek power and their own self interests.

What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?

The budget is going to be the No. 1 issue we all face. There will have to be cuts to many things that will make all sides unhappy but they need to be done in order to have the state solve its financial crisis. I will look closely at all options on the table and also listen to what my constituents are saying. I will make an informed decision based on the facts.

I do not support adding a state income tax nor do I support any type of corporate tax. We need to keep Nevada a state that is business friendly. If we begin to introduce new taxes on business, they will not bring their companies to Nevada or they will just go out of business.

We need to preserve our physicians by protecting them from frivolous lawsuits. The state needs to bring back the medical legal screening panel to help prevent these lawsuits.

Why should voters choose you over the other candidates?

I am a new, fresh face with a younger perspective and common sense. I do not owe political favors to anyone. I have always been direct, honest and true to my beliefs. Through my involvement in sports I have learned to be a team player and a leader and the only special interest I have is you, the voter, and getting this state we love back on track.
