A memorial service for Catherine (Kay) Cavallaro, 80, a Carson City/Dayton resident for the past 37 years, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 28 at Autumn Funerals, 1575 North Lompa Lane, Carson City.
Mrs. Cavallaro died at her home in Dayton May 21, 2010.
She was born June 22, 1929, in Chicago, Ill.
Before moving to Dayton, she lived in Granada Hills, Calif., for 16 years.
Mrs. Cavallaro was an artist and musician. She taught many students piano in northern Nevada and southern California. She owned a restaurant with her beloved husband, Dominick, in southern California for 17 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Marie Schmidt, her husband Dominick, her sister Lucille Schmidt and brother Frederick Schmidt Jr.
Among her survivors are her son Dominick and his wife Kelli; granddaughter Christina of Reno; her step-grandchildren Stephanie McDowell and Corey Folden of Reno; great-aunt Lucille Thomas of Florida; and numerous nephews, nieces and great-grandchildren.
Private burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley alongside her husband, Dominick.
Autumn Funerals is in charge of the arrangements.
