The Nevada Bighorns split a doubleheader against the San Francisco Seals Sunday at Western Nevada College.
The Bighorns took the opener 9-7 after rebounding from an early 6-0 deficit. San Francisco avoided a sweep in the second game with a 7-5 victory.
In the opener, the Bighorns trailed 6-0 early, but as they did Saturday, they stormed back to grab the win.
In the fourth, the Bighorns scored seven times to grab a 7-6 lead. Adam Anderson and Adam Miller drove in two runs apiece to key the rally.
The Seals tied the game at 7 against reliever Joey Webb, but an RBI double by Tim Lewis and a sacrifice fly by Anderson snapped the tie and gave the Bighorns the victory.
Nevada faced another 6-0 deficit in the second game.
Doubles by Lewis and Anderson cut the deficit to 6-2 in the second. In the third, Dustin Buttner's two-run HR made it 6-4. In the fifth, Eric Maupin doubled and scored on two wild pitches to make it 6-5.
The Seals pushed across a run in the seventh to make it 7-5.
The Bighorns loaded the bases with no outs, but failed to score. With one out, Miller was trapped between second and third after a fly-ball out, and the Seals tagged him out to end the game.
