RENO (AP) - Nevada's Democratic Secretary of State Ross Miller has won re-election to a second term in his race against Republican challenger Rob Lauer.
Miller is a former Clark County criminal prosecutor and the son of Nevada's longest serving governor, Bob Miller.
Early returns show him with 55 percent of the vote to Lauer's 36 percent.
Miller became the youngest secretary of state in Nevada history when he was first elected in 2006 at age 30. He spent much of Tuesday night trying to straighten out election return delays due to a power outage and long lines at polling places.
