Louise Nancy Rose, 91, a resident of Carson City since 1983, was born Aug. 25, 1919 in San Pedro, Calif., and passed away Nov. 2, 2010 in Gardnerville. She was a former member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, was a current member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, and belonged to a Bible study/prayer group called Renew.
Louise was a retired real estate agent and sold Avon products for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and doing charitable work, and loved singing with the church choir at various convalescent homes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rose; daughter, Cecelia Sciarrotta; brothers, Nick, Tony, Louie and Jim Trani; and sister, Phyllis DiMeglio.
Louise is survived by her sons, Robert Rose (Debbie) of Dayton and James Rose of New York, N.Y.; daughters, Helen Nelson (Harold) of Chandler, Ariz., and Maureen Mortimer (Gary) of Gardnerville; son-in-law, Chris Sciarrotta of Carson City; sister, Helen McClung of San Pedro, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Lone Mountain Cemetery.
