Eclipse's tribute to Pink Floyd returns to the Brewery Arts Center with an astonishing laser light and effects show that will mesmerize the audience. The band's recreates the ultimate concert extravaganza for which Pink Floyd was known.
Get tickets early as this show will sell out. Tickets are $15 reserved, $12 seniors, students, members. All tickets are subject to a $1.50 arts enhancement fee that benefits local arts agencies.
Wild Horse to stage children's verson of Alice's Wonderland
Follow the White Rabbit and don't be late! Wild Horse Children's Theater brings "Disney's Alice in Wonderland, Jr." to the stage at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St., Dec. 3-18, 2010.
Children of all ages will enjoy a smile with the Cheshire Cat, have tea with the Mad Hatter, and sing along with dozens of other wonderfully wacky characters. This fast-paced stage adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland" features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as "I'm Late," "The Un-birthday Song" and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah."
Show dates are 7 p.m. Dec. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17; and 4 p.m. Dec. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students and $ 5 ages 4-12. Children 3 and under are free if accompanied by and adult and do not occupy a seat. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.wildhorsetheater.com or call the Wild Horse office at 775-887-0438.
'Guys and Dolls Jr.' auditions set at Pau-Wa-Lu
Auditions for "Guys and Dolls Jr." are open to sixth- to ninth-graders in the Douglas County School District 3-6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School.
Callbacks will be 3-6 p.m. Dec. 2.
Please prepare a one-minute song with accompaniment (please no vocals on the accompaniment). The auditions consist of the song, a brief dance combination and cold readings.
Mandatory music rehearsals will be 3-6 p.m. Dec. 13-16, and mandatory dance rehearsals will be Jan. 3-14.
Performances are Feb. 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13. There is no cost to be a part of this production.
Delight a kid, dance for free
High Sierra Swing Dance Club presents a holiday/club member-appreciation dance 6:30-10:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Brewery Arts Center's Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King St., Carson City. There will be appetizers and a no-host bar in the Artisans' Cafe at 6:30 p.m., followed by the dance at 8 p.m.
Bring a donation of perishable food or item for Toys for Tots or join the club that night, and the dance is free.

Black & White Gala planned
Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary presents the Black & While Holiday Luncheon Gala Dec. 11 at Gold Dust West on East William Street.
Social hour and a bake sale will be at 11 a.m., with a Surf & Turf lunch served at noon.
The luncheon will be accompanied by Christmas carolers, a "White House/Black Market" fashion show, ballroom dance exhibitions and a raffle drawing with lots of prizes.
The event is open to the public. Cost is $30. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best black, white or silver Nevada attire.

Holiday Jazz and Poetry in Carson City
The Mile High Jazz Band and vocalist Sheryl Adams will be joined by Rita Geil and other award-winning poets for an evening of big-band jazz and poetry 8-10 p.m. Dec. 14, at Comma Coffee.
Poets/readers include Rita Geil, Terri Breeden, Krista Lukas, Susan Sara Priest, Tracy McQuay and Lee Warner.
Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St., is across the street from the state legislature building in Carson City.
General admission is $5 at the door, and free for age 18 and under.
Swing dance instruction from 6-7:15 p.m. is $5 additional.

'Colors of Fall' art exhibit at Brewery
The Nevada Artists Association's "Colors of Fall" art exhibit is open through Dec. 10 at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center Gallery, 449 W. King St. The show will display the latest creations of local and regional NAA members in paintings, photography, fine crafts, jewelry and sculptures.
Featured artist is photographer Wendell Jenness of Minden.
The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is free.
