No Grub for the boy: McCrimmon the blacksmith called at the County Jail with dinner for his son who was serving 30 hours imprisonment for throwing grapes at the house of A. Bergman. Deputy Sheriff Pine refused to allow the homemade dinner in alleging the boy was put there for punishment not for treats.

Lester Groth of the state printing office tied the season's goose shooting scores of his sons, Lester Jr. and George by bringing down a big bird which was presented to the Rev. J. L. Harvey, making good on a promise he gave 18 years ago.
