Two-car crash causes closure on Stewart Street

A two-vehicle accident about 9:30 a.m. Friday briefly closed southbound Stewart Street at the intersection of Fifth Street.

A pickup truck carrying three people hit a sports-utility vehicle that also was carrying three passengers at the intersection, flipping the SUV.

All passengers suffered minor injuries, including one female passenger in the SUV who was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Carson City Sheriff's deputies said one of the vehicles likely ran a red light, but weren't sure which was the offending vehicle. As of Friday morning they were still reviewing traffic camera footage.
