A Lyon County jury found a Fernley man guilty of drug trafficking for a November 2009 arrest in which large amounts of meth were recovered.
Rudy Perez, 32, was found guilty last week of trafficking methamphetamine.
"We have no tolerance for illegal narcotics in our community. We have no tolerance for gang members. The detrimental effects of methamphetamine are well documented and we will continue to prosecute and convict traffickers and users of illegal narcotics," said Lyon County District Attorney Bob Auer.
Perez was among nine people arrested Nov. 19, 2009, when officers with the Lyon County Sheriff's Narcotics Division, along with the Carson City Sheriff's Gang Unit and the Tri-County Gang Unit, served simultaneous search warrants at 1508 Trubode Lane, 1418 Red Bluffs Way, and 882 Jill Marie Lane, all in Fernley.
Court records indicate officers recovered 63.8 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $10,000.
Detectives also recovered a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a stun gun, and $894 in cash.
The investigation further revealed that Perez was a central figure in the distribution of methamphetamine in the Fernley area.
Perez faces either a definite term of 25 years with the possibility of parole after
10 years or life with the possibility of parole after 10 years when sentenced Dec. 6.
Also arrested in that raid was Cesar Munoz, 32, a high-profile documented Carson City gang member who's had numerous run-ins with the law.
Munoz is awaiting a Lyon County trial on possession of methamphetamine.
Auer has also filed a habitual criminal charge against Munoz. If he is found guilty, he could face life in prison.
Munoz is being held in the Lyon County Jail on $28,000 bail.
He will appear Oct. 19 in Canal Justice Court in Fernley.
