"Friends in Low Places" Cemetery Tour
The inaugural "Friends in Low Places" cemetery sunset tour features "spirited" first-person accounts at the Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City, starting at 5:30 p.m. Visitors can meet area spirits of the past including Abe Curry and Jennie Clemens. Ghost Walk
Costumed guides lead transfixed tourists through Carson City's historic district. There are two tour choices: The Curses Tour and The Rumors Tour, each with its own route. Both depart from Third and Carson streets next to The Firkin & Fox Pub. Spirits of the past will appear and share stories of their hauntings on the Historic Kit Carson Trail. Tours begin at 10 a.m. and run every 30 minutes until 2 p.m. Cost is $20; $5 discount if you've also purchased a cemetery tour ticket. Call 775-687-7410 for information.

Halloween & Harmonicas

Nevada Day Classic Run/Walk
More than 400 runners and walkers are expected to hit the streets of Carson City at 8:25 a.m. for the 21st annual Carson Nugget Nevada Day Classic. The event will feature 8-kilometer and 2-mile runs and 2-mile walk through the city's historic district, all starting from the corner of Telegraph and Curry streets, across the street from the Carson Nugget. Nevada Day Parade
The Nevada Day Parade will kick off promptly at 10 a.m. with a military flyover over Carson street of an F16, F18 and C130, from 152nd Operations Group of the Nevada Air Guard based in Reno.
Rock Drilling
Those brave enough to take down a granite rock the old school way can participate in the 36th annual World Championship Single Jack Drilling Contest at 11:05 a.m. in the Carson Nugget's west parking lot.
Chili Feed
The Nugget Chili Feed hosted by Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki will be in the Carson Nugget's upstairs Banquet Center, 507 N. Carson St., from noon to 2 p.m. on parade day. It's free.
Beard Contest
The Beard Contest will be in the Amphitheater on the Legislative grounds immediately following the parade. For the furry-faced among us, even if you don't think you can take home an individual trophy, be sure to be included in the count for "Most Bearded Community."
Pinewood Derby
Enter or watch the Pinewood Derby races in the Carson Mall after the Nevada Day Parade. Entry is free. Races open to ages 6 and older. Pick up kits at any American Family Insurance Carson City Office. Visit Les Schwab's Pit Crew at any Carson City location to have the specs checked on your car.
