The investigation is continuing into a gang-related shooting Saturday night in which several rounds were fired but no one was hit.

According to Carson City Sheriff's Deputy Nate Brehm, a member of the Tri-County Gang Task Force, a group of men were standing outside an apartment complex in the 3400 block of Airport Road about 10:30 p.m. when a two-door Oldsmobile Cutlass sedan with wire-spoke rims and several people inside stopped. The driver of the vehicle then asked the group, "Where you from?"

The witnesses stated the driver said he wanted to make sure they weren't from a rival gang.

When one of the witnesses cursed at the driver, the driver shouted out a gang name and opened fire. He then drove southbound on Airport Road.

Officers converged on the area and found there was no damage or injuries, but a shell casing indicated the weapon was either a .357 or .38 caliber, according to the report.

Anyone with information on the shooting can call non-emergency dispatch at 887-2007.

Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. To make an anonymous tip and become eligible for a reward call (775) 322-4900.
