SPARKS (AP) - Sparks police have arrested a 40-year-old man who allegedly tried to lure two boys into going with him as they walked near City Hall.
Police say Orbie Lee Downs of Sparks was booked Thursday on suspicion of two counts of luring a child and one count of failing to register as an ex-felon.
Police say the 3- and 6-year-old boys were walking with their mother a ways behind them at 3 p.m. Wednesday when the suspect came out of the bushes and asked them if they had seen his "little black kitty cat."
The mom ran to the boys and the suspect fled was caught on videotape running into City Hall. Police say he'd been living in an abandoned shed nearby.
