130 YEARS AGO

Disinterring the Dead. No Chinaman who is buried in the sagebrush is allowed to remain here for any considerable length of time. As soon the bones are ready the body is sent back to China. Altogether, the costs come to about $25 and are shipped back via steamer. An Appeal reporter witnessed the proceedings.

100 YEARS AGO

Nevada Council No. 978, Knights of Columbus, will on October 31st give a grand ball and supper at the Armory Hall in this city. The Council will be assisted by the ladies of St. Teresa's Church.

70 YEARS AGO

Postmaster E. H. Bath reports that to date 40 aliens have registered at the Carson City post office.

50 YEARS AGO

A spokesman for the state highway department today said new snow removal equipment may make it possible to keep the Mount Rose road open between Reno and north Lake Tahoe this year.

20 YEARS AGO

Carson took on the McQueen Landers at Governor's Bowl in what was the most exciting game of the season with the Senators winning 2-0. The league record is 7-1, still a half game behind Reno.

10 YEARS AGO

If you wonder where the bodies are buried and in which closets, ask a Carson City Jaycee. The Haunted House of Horror will be in the north end of Frontier Plaza.
