A bold theft: Last evening about 7 p.m. Mrs. Jourdan, a music teacher, was passing the Mind when a boy rushed up and snatched a Portemon-naie from her hand. She desc-ribed the boy to officers and soon apprehended a young scapegoat named Lennon, who was part of the gang that robbed Keyser & Elrod's till. He is to be investigated today in Judge Cary's Court.
100 YEARS AGO
Julia Ward Gibson, daughter of a Presbyterian minister of Pasadena, was arrested at the home of A. D. Meyers, a Goldfield mining millionaire, after she chased Meyers out of his apartments with a revolver. Miss Gibson was taken to county jail in Los Angeles on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
70 YEARS AGO
Max Helphenstine and Eddie Silsby, both well known Carson City youths, have passed all examinations for joining the United States army air corps.
50 YEARS AGO
Plans are almost complete for the three-day statewide Nevada Day celebration according to chairman G. W. (Swede) Russell. Starting the festivities will be the 1864 costume ball with Mrs. William Harrah as chairman of the committee. Nancy Franklin was chosen as Miss Carson City and Patty Doty, Barbara Jones, Camille Richards and Linda Chambers were chosen as attendants.
20 YEARS AGO
Two more area residents were arrested Thursday on charges they engaged in lewd sexual conduct in men's restrooms in public parks. Sheriff Paul McGrath said complaints were filed Tuesday charging 19 male adults with a total of 63 counts. The action follows reports of men loitering around facilities at Mills Park and Lloyd's Bridge.

Six skeletons were discovered from a Chinese Cemetery by utility workers digging a trench on Roop Street across from the Lone Mountain Cemetery in a parcel commonly called the Chinese Cemetery.
