As a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, the Carson Valley Medical Center will host an educational and informational event. The center is committed to increasing the awareness of breast cancer issues, promoting early detection and encouraging women to have regular mammograms.
During the event through a grant from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, applications will be accepted for a limited number of free mammograms to uninsured women.
