Michael Hohl Automotive will stage a grand opening celebration today for its new Honda and Subaru dealerships in Carson City.
The event runs 4 to 6 p.m. and will include activities throughout the weekend.
"We're a third generation Nevada family-owned automotive dealership and we're proud to bring this state-of-the-art facility to Carson City," said Matthew Hohl, general manager of Michael Hohl Honda and Michael Hohl Subaru.
The Michael Hohl Honda and Subaru dealerships, at 2800 and 2910 S. Carson St., are a $15 million project that spans seven acres. They opened in June after breaking ground in 2009.
On Saturday and Sunday, the dealerships will host education events for parents, including the Managing Information on Lost Kids program, which is a collaboration between Farmers Insurance and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Parents who attend the event are able to acquire digital identification for their children, which is provided to more than 17,000 police stations nationwide.
Local radio station KDOT 104.5 FM will be broadcasting live with prize giveaways to customers and listeners on Saturday.
Other activities include a pumpkin patch and a demonstration by the Carson City Sheriff's Office and K-9 Units.
Michael Hohl Automotive also operates the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac and Michael Hohl RV dealerships in Carson City.
