The Nevada State Office of Energy is launching phase two of the Appliance Rebate Program this week with

$1.2 million in available rebate funds.

"The only difference this time is that Nevadans will now need to purchase their appliance first, and then apply for their rebate online. Consumers will be able to check www.nevadaappliance

rebate.com at any time to see how much rebate money is left," said Catherine Gowen NSOE project manager.

Nevada residents will receive $200 for an Energy Star refrigerator, $150 for an Energy Star freezer or clothes washer, and $100 for an Energy Star dishwasher.

"Some of the retailers are offering additional discounts on Energy Star appliances, so consumers can get a great deal right now," Gowen added.

Consumers can fill out their application online at www.nevadaappliancerebate

.com from home or at their retailer. The application must be mailed, along with a proof-of-purchase and a proof-of-pick-up of the old appliance. Anyone without Internet access can access the website from most retailers to find out how much money is left, and to apply for their rebate once they make their purchase.

After the required information is received, validated and processed, a Visa debit card in the amount of the applicable rebate will be mailed to the participant's home address.

Phase two of the Nevada Appliance Rebate Program will remain active until all of the money is depleted.
