LAS VEGAS (AP) - The ex-wife of Nevada's Republican governor is slamming GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle as Angle battles to unseat Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Dawn Gibbons blasted Angle's education agenda Wednesday during an appearance in Las Vegas.
Gibbons called Angle's ideas dangerous and extreme in a speech that mirrors Reid's attacks on his opponent.
Angle has said she wants to dismantle the federal Department of Education. She is a former school teacher.
Gibbons, a former Republican assemblywoman, was among Reid's earliest Republican supporters last year. Her divorce from Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons was finalized in July.
Dawn Gibbons faced Angle in a three-way congressional primary in 2006. Neither emerged victorious.
