MIAMI (AP) - A spokesman for Miami International Airport says four of its six concourses have been evacuated as a police bomb squad investigates a report of a suspicious item.
Airport spokesman Greg Chin told The Associated Press early Friday that a bomb squad went to one of the concourses about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. He says police are looking at the item in a U.S. Customs area of Concourse E near an international arrivals area.
He says the shutdown was at all but two concourses. He says between 100 and 200 people were evacuated.
He declined to release other details and referred further questions to Miami-Dade police. Police did not immediately return telephone calls seeking information.
