The Town of Genoa will present the 90th Annual Candy Dance Arts and Crafts Faire on Sept. 25 and 26 in Genoa.
The Faire hours are
9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. The Faire will feature more than 350 arts and craft exhibitors and food vendors, plus 4,000 pounds of Genoa's famous homemade candy. A new addition this year is the Genoa Western Art Gallery which will host some of the finest western artists. The gallery will be located in the Teig Building, 2285 Main Street.
Up to 30,000 people attend Candy Dance. Admission to the Faire is free; parking in designated parking lots is $5 per vehicle. Free shuttles to and from Genoa will be provided at these parking lots.
The Candy Dance Dinner Dance will be Sept. 25, 4-10 p.m. at the Genoa Town Park in Genoa. Entertainment at the Dinner Dance will feature David John and the Comstock Cowboys and Wylie and the Wild West. Dinner tickets are $30 each which includes dinner and the concert. This year's menu includes tri-tip or chicken, roasted rosemary potatoes, green salad, corn on the cob, garlic bread, and dessert. And yes, free candy. Dance only tickets are $15. A no-host bar will be available. There is free parking in the Genoa Lane Parking lot after 3 p.m.
The funds raised by the Town of Genoa during the Candy Dance weekend provide a substantial portion of the town's annual budget.
