Thoughts on prison light and politics

This isn't the most important topic around today, but here goes. I work till

1 a.m. and drive home via Fifth Street going east from Roop. When I get to Saliman, there is a light on the prison entrance tower that is blinding. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know who to contact about it.

On another note, elections are coming up and again all you see on TV is the Dems and the Republican candidates. People, there are six more candidates that don't get any play, so no one knows about them unless you do research.

The Democrat and Republican who are running are not good choices. Reid has done nothing for Nevada in all the years he has been there. Angle is out there, anyone who blames the current senator for the plunge in real estate prices is a whack job. So, research, research and more research before the election.

I think that the local papers and local news shows should give free airtime to all candidates so that they can get coverage and get their names out there, too. Why should the people donate money to candidates; let them all stand on the same playing field.

I have not chosen my candidate yet, and don't want to tell anyone who to vote for. But please, do not just vote for your party just because it's your party. Vote for the best candidate with the most views as your own.

If not jobs, just what is a senator's duty?

Not only does Sharron Angle defy all laws of geometry, as Mary Ann Bennet states in her Aug. 8 letter to the editor, but she defies all logic. In one of her campaign ads, she blames Harry Reid for the high unemployment rate.

But, what I would like to know is just how much higher unemployment will be if she's our senator - seeing as how, "It's not my job, as a U.S. senator, to create jobs or bring industry to Nevada," as another of her campaign ads shows.

Maybe it's just me, but where is the logic?

Just what is Sharron's angle?

Boy Scout has words of wisdom for drivers

Within the last couple months, there have been fatal and non-fatal accidents. The accidents have been causing several deaths lately. The non-fatal accidents, people have been walking away from.

The people causing these accidents have been getting careless. People tend to be getting DUIs lately and driving drunk. People also tend to fall asleep at the wheel and crash.

Lots of people say all you have to do is drive good once in your life, and that is (for) your license test.

So, in my opinion, people who are careless when driving should get their license revoked.
