An embarrassing predicament: A young society lady in this city while getting into her buggy ... jumped in with considerable vim and the bottom of the carriage gave out. The girl went through, but her clothes didn't ... and the exhibition very much shocked some young gentlemen passing by. She was extracted only after great difficulty and much mortification.

Nellie Mighels Davis celebrates her 96th birthday. Mrs. Davis, native of Maine, came to Carson City in 1866 and has been a resident of Carson City during 74 of Nevada's 76 years of statehood ... (owner of the Appeal from 1866 to 1945).

David Helgren and Robert Shriver are hosts at youths costume party and the group enjoyed a picnic supper with a "conga line clue hunt." Those attending were: Terry Graham, Jackie Bordoli, Jan Packard, Fredrica King, Anne Kvam, John Felesina, Fred Jones, Harle Smith.
