A local woman is working on a community service project through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by collecting new and used suitcases or duffel bags for the local foster program.
When children are taken from their homes, they are given a trash bag to put their personal belongings into. The program has no suitcases for these kids in need.
Lori McDonald's goal is to collect as many as possible and to clean them up. She also plans to include a "Life Book" or personal journal in each suitcase for the children. They are encouraged to keep a "Life Book" of their family and families to come.
McDonald is hoping to make the transition for these children a little easier.
Anyone wishing to help, can dig out old suitcases and duffel bags which aren't being used and donate them.
