St. Peter's Bell - The bell of the Episcopal Church was cracked last winter by frost and is now being repaired at the V&T machine shops.

And after the hanging

Its regular clanging

Will bid the worshippers bend the knee.

In spire of St. Peter

'Twill sound far sweeter

Than in the shops of the V and T.

A Pumpkin in Court - the other side - Part III: The defendant alleged that the pumpkin grew on his ground and the vine had come over there for the purpose of getting some sunlight, without which it never would have reached maturity. He asserted that the plaintiff had always been at liberty to pull the vine through the crack. (Continued on Friday)

Fallout shelter: The first completed prototype fallout shelter to be built in Nevada was dedicated. The six-person above-ground shelter can be used as a bedroom or family room. The concrete block structure has stucco on the outside to match the house. This is only one of many ideas, said state Civil Defense Director Claude U. Shipley.
