Attempted burglary: Klein's brewery was entered by some unknown person who got in by the window and opened the cash drawer in a most artistic manner.

Stanford University: The University will be opened to students next year. Senator Stanford intends to make the opening ceremonies a national event. He proposes to load a special train with President Harrison, Secretary Blaine.

Silver Saddle Ranch opens off Carson River Road. After two years of planning, the Ranch is opened to the public in celebration of National Public Lands Day. The BLM has spent more than two years ironing out the details of how to create a recreational opportunity for the historic 703-acre ranch.
