BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Browns starting quarterback Jake Delhomme missed a second week of practice, and will likely miss a second straight game.
Delhomme, who sprained his right ankle in the season opener at Tampa Bay, did not practice again Friday, making it improbable he will play in Sunday's game at Baltimore. Delhomme was inactive last Sunday, when the Browns hosted Kansas City.
Browns coach Eric Mangini has not yet ruled Delhomme out, but it appears backup Seneca Wallace will face the Ravens and make his second start in a row.
"I don't know," Mangini said Friday when asked if Delhomme will be inactive. "He's very aggressive with his rehab. It's like everything else he does, he does it very aggressively and each day it gets a little better. I have total confidence to operate the plan if he is available. We'll just have to see."
Delhomme was not available in the locker room during the 45-minute period open to reporters. He was not seen at the team's facility all week.
Wallace has made 16 career starts in eight seasons, but this will be the mobile QB's first game against the Ravens.
He knows what they're all about.
"I know that they're a very physical defense, they create a lot of turnovers. They've always been that way," said Wallace, who went 16 of 31 for 229 yards with one TD and one interception in last week's 16-14 loss to the Chiefs. "They're a very talented defense."
Cleveland's defense took a blow with word that linebacker D'Qwell Jackson will not make his expected debut this week after suffering a setback from an injury to his chest muscle.
Jackson partially tore a pectoral muscle during training camp and returned to practice Wednesday. He felt tightness and fatigue on Thursday, and after discussing it with the team's trainers, Jackson, who missed 10 games last season after tearing his other pectoral muscle, decided it was best to get more rest.
"I'm confident I'll be back," Jackson said. "I've got to be smart. I can't go out there too early. I'm going to err on the side of caution."
Running back Jerome Harrison didn't practice again because of a thigh injury, increasing the likelihood James Davis will get his first significant action this season. Davis, a sixth-round pick in 2009, played in just two games as a rookie before being placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
Tight end Evan Moore was cleared to practice after missing two days with a concussion sustained Sunday against the Chiefs.
Wide receiver Brian Robiskie (hamstring), nose tackle Shaun Rogers (leg), guard Shaun Lauvao (ankle) and linebacker Marcus Benard (ankle) also missed practice.
