Riding a four-game win streak, the Douglas baseball team ran into a sizeable speed bump against Wooster Tuesday afternoon.

Wooster picked an 18-10 win in a wild three-hour, 15-minute game that included 10 errors, six hit batsmen, 30 hits and, of course, 28 runs.

While Douglas had no problem racking up the hits -- totaling 16 -- but stranded 12 base runners and left the bases loaded in three different innings.

The Tigers put a 3-1 lead together early on but Wooster took the lead for good in a four-run second inning on only two hits.

Douglas answered with a run in the bottom of the second, but Wooster took control of the game with a six run third, this time coming on just two hits.

Despite the wide margin, Douglas kept chipping away at the lead, cutting it to 11-5 in the third, then 11-7 in the fourth.

Three more runs in the top of the fifth put Wooster up 14-7 and the Tigers didn't get much closer from there.

Cody Begovich went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a double to lead the Tigers at the plate. Shane Fencl, Kameron Van Winkle, Cody Lommori and Matt Thomas each had two hits and Fencl, Lommori and Walker Gemmill each doubled.

Douglas dropped to 8-6 overall and 4-4 in league play on the year.
