(Nevada Appeal Staff Report) - Smith's Food & Drug Stores has kicked off its annual campaign to raise funds for Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation in support of charity care for needy children.
Now in its 19th year, Smith's will invite customers from Utah and parts of Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada to join in fundraising activities with store associates. For eight weeks in April and May, Smith's customers are invited to support store-level fundraising activities such as hot dog sales, carnivals, yard sales and silent auctions.
Since 1992, Smith's has raised and donated a total of $7.6 million for the hospital and seeks to raise $500,000 during this campaign.
As the only full-service children's hospital in the intermountain west, Primary Children's Medical Center's 271 beds hold the most critically ill and injured children that require the most sophisticated care from the five-state area.
