SCHOOL: Dayton High

SPORT: Baseball

YEAR: Junior

Q: What is your favorite sport, and how did you get started playing it?

A: Baseball, I have been playing since I was little in T-ball, and loved the sport ever since.

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?

A: My favorite professional athlete is Jason Varitek because he has been a leader for the Boston Red Sox. Ever since I saw them comeback from a 3-0 deficit against the New York Yankees in the 2004 playoffs, and I strive to be the leader that he is.

Q: What has been your most thrilling moment in sports?

A: My most thrilling moment in sports was when my team took two games from Lowry last year during playoffs after losing the first game of the series, which sent us to state.

Q: Do you have a role model, and why is he/she your role model?

A: My role models are my parents and coaches, one of whom has been coaching me since I was nine and I have looked up to him ever since. They help steer me in the right direction and become the best person I can be.

Q: What sport have you always wanted to try, but never have and why?

A: I have always wanted to try lacrosse, but never had the opportunity because there is no lacrosse program in Dayton and I am too busy with other sports.

Q: Do you have any hobbies?

A: My hobbies are limited because I am often occupied with sports, but when I'm not, I like to ski, snowboard, and ride bicycles.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Chicken parmesan

Q: What is the last non-academic book you read?

A: "Born To Play" by Dustin Pedroia and Edward J. Delaney

Q: Who is your favorite musician or group?

A: My favorite bands are A Day to Remember, All That Remains, and Wiz Kalifa

Q: After graduation, where do you plan to attend college, and what will you major in?

A: I'm not decided on where I want to go to college, but I would like to major in either civil engineering or architecture.

Q: Do you have a favorite TV show?

A: My favorite TV shows are "Blue Mountain State" and "The Chappelle Show."

Q: Tell us something about yourself that would surprise most of your friends?

A: I have been ridiculed for being small all my life, and I have just smiled whenever I was made fun of for it just to hide my resentment, but it gave me a chip on my shoulder, and that's what's given me the drive to work hard and become the athlete that I am today.
