Dutch Bros. Coffee will donate coffee-sales proceeds to the Muscular Dystrophy Association today.
The annual "MDA Day" will kick off ALS Awareness Month in May (ALS is also commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease), and is held annually in honor of company co-founder, Dane Boersma, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2005 and passed away in late 2009.
Last year, Dutch Bros. contributed $110,000 to the MDA for research and family services funding.
The Carson City is located at 1449 S. Carson St. The fundraiser last from 5:30 a.m.-11 p.m.
The company has 159 locations nationwide.
