Jesse and Supi Pimental will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a renewal of their vows May 6 at the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community. The Rev. Chuck Durante will officiate. A reception will follow at The Gold Dust West in Carson City, where Supi has worked for 13 years.
Jesse is a retired meat cutter who worked at Safeway and Scolaris and Supi previously worked as a hair stylist for five years in Carson City. They have been residents of the Capital City since 1990.
The couple have three children, Lisa, Jesse Jr. and Lawrence; and 11 grandchildren, Kahlia, Kiahna, Jake, Marisa, Jesse, Gino, Jeremy, Alyssa, Selena, Jaelyn and Brianne.
The Pimentals enjoy bowling and golf and are involved in their grandchildren, nieces and nephews sports activities.
According to Supi, the secret to a lasting marriage is God, family, communication, patience, love, and trust.
"To be real truthful, it hasn't been all peaches and cream - like every loving marriage there are always a lot more ups than downs - but we sure know how to conquer anything that comes our way," said Supi, who is a cancer survivor.
