HENDERSON - College of Southern Nevada swept Western Nevada in a Scenic West Athletic Conference softball doubleheader.
CSN won the opener 11-2 and then rebounded from a 6-3 deficit to win the nightcap 16-11. The teams continue their four-game seris today with a doubleheader starting at noon.
In the opener, CSN scored four in the first and fie in the sixth to close out the Wildcats.
Ashley Gleason was the hitting star with a two-run single in the fourth to drive in WNC's only runs. Melanie Pfeiffer, losing pitcher Ashley Hall, Niki DiSera, Megan Hein and Cassie Vondrak all had a hit apiece. Hall and Vondrak had doubles and Gleason had a triple.
In the second game, WNC scored six times in the second to take a 6-3 lead. The Wildcats added three in the third for a 9-3 lead, but CSN scored five in the third and three in the fourth for an 11-10 lead. WNC tied the game at 11 in the fifth, but CSN won it with five runs in the sixth.
Pfeiffer, DiSera and Glason all had three hits. Hall and Tera Tibbitts added two hits each. Vondrak and Hein collected a hit apiece.
