130 YEARS AGO

For months past a man has been prowling about the Appeal office and watching the premises at a certain hour of the night. At first no notice was taken until his visits became so persistent that now a man sleeps in the upper story to watch the building. He was last seen sneaking about the vicinity on the night of the Caledonia picnic. A reward is offered for the man's apprehension.

100 YEARS AGO

Frank Meder and Arthur Bordewich made the trip to Glenbrook in Bordie's car Saturday evening. They report a good time at the resort and many enjoying delightful weather at the Lake.

70 YEARS AGO

All security departments nationwide have been asked by the government of Brazil for technicians familiar with construction of internal combustion engines, aircraft, industrial and art leather work as well as other fields. Salaries are comparable with the U.S. And round-trip transportation is furnished for one year employment.

50 YEARS AGO

The Ormsby County Grand Jury filed a complaint against the county assessor asking he be removed from office. General neglect of official duties were charged.

20 YEARS AGO

Carson schools will open on time, but contingency plans are being developed in case construction is not completed on time.

A wildfire closes Interstate 80 at Emigrant Gap and traffic is routed through other highways, creating a huge traffic jam through Carson City.
