Arrangements were made yesterday for Frank Golden, to be buried as exalted ruler of the Elks. The club will escort the body after high mass at St. Thomas Church. The V. & T. will have a special train that will take the funeral party to Carson for interment.

Raby J. Newton, air raid warden for Carson City today announced that warning districts in Carson City will correspond to the fire alarm districts. In case of emergency householders and businessmen will be contacted by the warden of the district. In District No. 1 - Jud Lamb, North Carson Street, Telephone 220 ... etc.

50 YEARS AGO

Carson's highly respected volunteer fire department will soon receive the very latest in fire engine equipment, a Pitman Snorkel Model Truck. The new equipment costs more than $40,000.

Layoffs of hundreds of state employees or furloughs are being considered to head off a $50 million budget deficit this year.

Building parking spaces at Mills Park along Highway 50 East will likely take some funding from redevelopment and cost some $75,000.
