RENO - The Nevada Wolf Pack football program currently has 23 verbal commitments for this year's recruiting class, according to Scout.com and ESPN.com.

The first day recruits can sign their official Letter of Intent is today.

A brief look at the 23 Wolf Pack verbal commitments:

Reggie Coates: Coates is a hybrid defensive end/ outside linebacker. He is 6-2, 230 pounds from Crespi Carmelite High in Encino, Calif. Coates is an excellent pass rusher who chose Nevada after also getting offers from Colorado State, Iowa State, San Diego State and Washington. He has recovered from a knee injury suffered his junior year in high school.

Teondray Caldwell: Caldwell is a 5-10, 185-pound speedy running back. The Venice (Calif.) High School player is a versatile running back perfect for the Pack's Pistol offense with his ability to run and catch. The Pack loses senior running back Vai Taua after this year.

Tanner Roderick: The 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback is from Bozeman (Mt.) High School. Roderick has good size and seemingly is also a perfect fit for the Pistol. He had Colin Kaepernick numbers his senior year, passing for 2,457 yards and 28 touchdowns and rushing for 1,913 yards and 23 touchdowns for his 13-0 state championship Bozeman High team.

Jake Peppard: Peppard, from Cerritos College, is a 6-4, 253-pound defensive end. He could step right in and help replace departing senior Ryan Coulson next year.

Tyler Thompson: Thompson could also come right in and produce next year. The 6-2, 200-pound safety is from Bakersfield College. He could also help replace senior linebacker Kevin Grimes.

Anthony Knight: The 5-11, 175-pound running back had 1,399 yards and seven touchdowns this year for Lawrence Academy in Massachusetts. He originally gave a verbal commitment to North Carolina State. His brother Derrick played for North Carolina State head coach Tom O'Brien when the two were with Boston College. "The pistol offense is an offense for a downhill runner like myself so it is almost designed for a back like me," Knight told Examiner.com this month.

Andrew Main: Main is a 6-3, 250-pound offensive lineman from Los Alamitos (Calif.) High. His high school head coach was quoted earlier this year as saying Main also received an offer from UCLA.

Bryson Keeton: Keeton is a 6-foot, 175-pound safety from Ridgeview High in Bakersfield, Calif. He returned an interception 49 yards for a TD as a junior and a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown as a senior.

Desman Carter: Carter is a 6-1, 195-pound safety from Kaiser High School in Fontana, Calif.

Superiorr Reid: The most interesting first name in this Pack class, Reid is a 6-1, 205-pound running back from Arlington High in Riverside, Calif. He is a tough between-the-tackles back with 4.4 speed in the 40. He also played safety in high school. Boise State and Idaho also offered Reid a scholarship.

Jonathan McNeal: The 6-2, 230-pound McNeal is a freshman middle linebacker from Santa Monica College. McNeal played his high school football at Venice (Calif.) High. McNeal will attend Nevada in the spring semester this year.

Jeffrey Lark: Lark is one of the most intriguing players on this list. At 6-2, 215-pounds, Lark is a linebacker/ safety hybrid from Bridgton Academy in Maine. The Texas native was also recruited heavily by, among others, Utah, California and North Carolina State. He could develop into a linebacker with strong pass coverage skills.

Kendall Brock: Brock is a 5-8 speedster from Clovis (Calif.) West High. The running back, who committed to the Pack in August, is 185 pounds. Scout.com called Brock "arguably the most explosive player in Central California with lightning quickness and sure hands."

E.J. Galvez: Galvez, from La Mirada (Calif.) High, is a 6-2, 265-pound guard/center. He could also end up at defensive tackle.

Lorenzo Devers: Devers is a 6-2, 230-pound middle linebacker from Lutheran High in Orange, Calif.

Ryan Goforth: Goforth is a 6-1, 205-pound undersized (Kevin Grimes?) linebacker/ safety from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly High. Goforth will attend Nevada in the spring semester this year.

Rhykeem Yates: Yates is a 6-2, 235-pound defensive end from Edison (Calif.) High. Yates will attend Nevada in the spring semester this year.

Karl Mickelson: Mickelson is a 6-foot, 215-pound outside linebacker with good speed from Morse High in San Diego.

Zach Brickell: Brickell, from Fallbrook (Calif.) Union High School, is a 6-4, 245-pound defensive end. Brickell will attend Nevada in the spring semester this year.

Burton DeKoning: DeKoning, from Folsom (Calif.) High, is a 6-2, 215-pound outside linebacker. According to ESPN,com, DeKoning is a "playmaker with an excellent motor and intensity."

Bryan Lane: Lane, a 6-3, 200-pound outside linebacker, is from Christian Brothers High in Sacramento. Sacramento State also offered him a scholarship.

Paul Dancy: Dancy is a 6-4, 260-pound defensive end from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Baylor, Kansas, Arizona and Washington State also showed interest in Dancy.

Randy Horton: Horton, from Simi Valley, Calif., is a 6-5, 255-pound freshman blocking tight end from the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif. The Pack loses senior tight end Virgil Green this year.

Note: The Pack is also adding "gray-shirt" freshmen Connor Talbott and Sebastian Tretola. Talbott, from Bishop Manogue High in Reno, and Tretola, from San Bernardino, Calif., were originally signed last year.
