LAS VEGAS - The No. 19 Western Nevada College baseball team suffered a 4-2 setback to Pima Community College on Friday.

Wildcat pitchers struggled throwing strikes, walking seven on the day. WNC scored single runs in the third and fourth before Pima took the lead with two runs in the eighth inning.

Chris Garrison took the loss allowing four walks, one hit, two runs, one earned, in 3.2 innings of work. He struck out three.

"The difference was their pitching," said WNC coach D.J. Whittemore. "Seven walks for us, is not going to win a whole bunch."

Connor Eppard was 2-for-4 with a stolen base. Tanner Nielsen, Chris Woolley and Pat McMeel all had a hit. Nielsen and Brooks Klein both scored. Woolley added an RBI.

WNC and Pima lock up for a doubleheader today starting at 11 a.m. Whittemore said freshman Brandon Jackson will get his first start for the Wildcats today.
