Dayton played a strong second half in a 61-45 win over Fernley Friday. The Dust Devils trailed by one at half before turning the game around.
Dayton concludes the regular season against Lovelock today at 3:30 p.m. The Dust Devils will host South Tahoe at 6 p.m. Friday in the NIAA 3A playoffs.
Dylan Taylor led the team with 24 points, Jake Koch had 10 points and Tyler Firestone added seven.

Douglas boys' coach Corey Thacker couldn't help but be a little nervous heading into Friday night's game at Damonte Ranch.
The Mustangs were desperate for a win in order to improve their playoff standing nothing could change the Tigers' playoff standing, win or lose.
Plus, Damonte Ranch - particularly standout guard Matt Nuthall - gave the Tigers a pretty stiff test in Minden earlier this season.
Douglas quickly put Thacker's fears to rest, though, jumping out to an 11-2 lead on its way to a 73-53 win.

CARSON WINSFINALE
RENO - Carson High's junior varsity basketball team closed out its season with a 52-35 road win against Galena.
Nate Brown led Carson with 21 points, while Jay Lanuza added nine and Rafe King seven in the win.
BOYS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL
CARSON ENDS SEASON WITH A WIN
The Carson boys freshman team beat Galena 59-30 Friday night. Leading the Senators was Austin Shaffer with 14 points. Adam Peterson added 12 points, Alan Cohen chipped in 11 points and Robbie Miller added eight points.
Carson finishes the year 16-8 and 9-7 in league play.

FIRST HALF DOOMS DUST DEVILS
The Dayton girls basketball team struggled to get a shot off in the first half against Fernley. The shooting woes allowed Fernley to build a 33-3 halftime lead en rout to a 58-20 victory.
Erin Edison and Amber Brooks each scored five points to lead the Dust Devils. They conclude their season at 2 p.m. today at home against Lovelock.

The Douglas girls' basketball team wrapped up its season with a 33-29 win Friday night against Damonte Ranch in Reno.
Douglas fired on all cylinders in the first half, getting out to a 20-6 lead in the first half while allowing just two field goals from Damonte.
The Tigers then had to hold of a late charge from the Mustangs, who used a 11-2 run in the fourth quarter to cut the score to 31-29.
Douglas' defense clamped down over the final 30 seconds and Carly McCullough scored on a layup with 20 seconds left to seal the Douglas win.
GIRLS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL
DAYTON RALLY COMES UP SHORT
The Dayton freshman girls basketball couldn't rally from a 13-point third quarter deficit in a 41-35 to Fernley.
The Dust Devils had a couple of defensive lapses in allowing Fernley to build the lead. The Dust Devils were unable to complete the comeback in falling to 7-13 on the year.
Ashley Sandy scored 10 points to led the team. Lettie Lynch added nine points.
The team travels to Winnemucca to play Lowry and Elko today starting at 10:30 a.m.
