Q: What are your favorite sports, and how did you get started playing them?

A: My favorite sports are volleyball and basketball. I got into basketball because of my dad. He played for (University of Nevada) when he was in college, and then he coached when he got older. I would go with him to his practices when I was 4 and loved it. I got into volleyball in eighth grade. It was my last year in middle school so I thought I would try something different.

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?

A: My favorite professional athlete is Candace Parker (former Tennessee star and currently in the WNBA). She is AMAZING at basketball. She is so consistent in everything she does. She has so much talent, and I want to be like her every time I step on the court.

Q: What has been your most thrilling moment in sports?

A: The most thrilling moment would have to be when I had 15 rebounds in a game against Spanish Springs.

Q: Do you have a role model, and why is he/she your role model?

A: My role models are my mom and step-dad. Because they support me in everything I do and are always there for me.

Q: Do you have a teammate you hang around with a lot away from school?

A: I don't have just one teammate that I hang out with outside school. I hang out with my whole team because we get along and always have a lot of fun with each other.

Q: Do you have any hobbies, and if so, what are they?

A: I have a few hobbies, sports of course and I love to cook. I like to read and I also like to draw.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: I love all kinds of foods, but my most favorite has to be ribs.

Q: What is the last non-academic book you read?

A: "Just Take My Heart" by Mary Higgins Clark.

Q: Who is your favorite musician or group?

A: I don't really have a favorite musician. I love all kinds of music.

Q: After graduation, where do you plan to attend college, and what are you looking at in terms of a major?

A: I haven't chosen a college yet, but I want to major in Criminal Justice.

Q: Do you have a favorite TV show?

A: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Q: Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people.

A: I'm legally blind.
