Secretary of State Ross Miller named Reno attorney Scott Gilles his deputy for elections on Tuesday.
Gilles has been a senior associate attorney for the Reno firm of Fahrendorf, Viloria, Oliphant & Oster since 2006. He also served as a law clerk for retired First Judicial District Court Michael R. Griffin in Carson City.
"Scott will bring highly valuable litigation experience to the job of elections deputy," Miller said. "It seems there are challenges to state election laws every cycle and Scott will be prepared to handle whatever comes our way."
Gilles will join the Secretary of State's staff on Jan. 26. He replaces Matt Griffin who resigned after four years to go into private legal practice.
