A Carson City woman is recovering after being the victim of a hit-and-run accident Sunday night.

Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Scott McDaniel said Brittany Oliveras, 19, was crossing the intersection of Stewart and Roop streets about 5:30 p.m. when the vehicle struck her.

"She said she started to cross at Stewart and Roop and stepped out into the road when she saw the headlights and got struck," he said.

She was taken from the scene to the airport, then flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno where she was treated and released, said McDaniel.

He said Oliveras was unable to identify the vehicle which fled the scene.

Police are looking for a small white foreign-made vehicle with possible body damage.
