Northwest Territorial Mint acquires Texas company
Northwest Territorial Mint of Dayton, a maker of custom coins and medals for the military and other customers, acquired Graco Awards of Tomball, Texas. Graco makes the Medal of Honor, Silver Star and Purple Heart awards. Both companies have been privately held.

Lori Jenkins joins Trans-Action Realty's Carson office
Lori Jenkins has joined the Carson City office of Trans-Action Realty, said Michael Clark, the president of Trans-Action Realty.
Jenkins has more than 25 years experience as a licensed Realtor in Nevada and California, with a concentration in land development, commercial investment properties, distressed properties and water rights, and more than nine years experience in Real Estate Appraisal. Jenkins also has earned her CRS, Certified Residential Specialist, and CDPE, Certified Distressed Property Expert designations.

Tahoe Creamery back in production
High Sierra Ice Cream Inc. of Minden said last week it's resumed production of Tahoe Creamery ice cream.
Production of the ice cream was halted last autumn as the result of manufacturing issues. A new management team is headed by Merlin Manley, a graduate of the ice cream course at Penn State.

Healthcare to be discusses at NNDA breakfast meeting
Ed Epperson, CEO of Carson-Tahoe Regional Healthcare Center, will be the guest speaker at the Northern Nevada Development Authority breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. June 29. The event will take place at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. Epperson will talk about "Creating an Accountable and Affordable Healthcare Delivery System." He will review the Affordable Care Act of 2010.
Plus, Valerie Clark, president of Clark & Associates, will provide insight into the implementation of key reform provisions that affect employers and individuals alike with the changes to the U.S. health care system through the recent reform bill, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Tom Chase, CEO of Nevada Health Centers, also will explain the Centers mission and vision for the future services to assist with the communities economic stabiity.

CCCVB member sought
The Carson City Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Carson City Convention and Visitor's Bureau Board.
This Committee oversees all tourism matters within Carson City. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Community Center in the Sierra Room. Applicants must be willing to serve approximately six to eight hours a month. There is currently one position open for a two-year term set to expire July, 2013 in the hotel/motel industry.
