Thanks for library's Homebound Books program

Kudos to the Carson City Library's Homebound Book program. The program faithfully delivers quality reading material to my home on a routine bases. The snow and ice of this past winter did not interrupt the delivery of books to my home. A special thanks to Sandy, Maxine, and Karen for making great selections of reading material.

Balloon flies for the kids

I wish to thank all of those involved with the RE/MAX Balloon event at the Airport Open House. Not only were we able to make a substantial donation to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, we also enabled 56 adults and children to experience a ride in the RE/MAX Balloon.

We would like to thank Tim Rowe, Airport Manager for inviting us for this year, our fourth year of participation. Our pilot Aaron Dieringer from Reno, who incidentally took 6th place at the Great Reno Balloon Races last year, and his brother Jeff, were assisted by local RE/MAX agents, Darrel and Patty Page, Dawna Johnson as well as myself. Aeronaut Tricia Lincoln also crewed. Local pilot and friend George Byard helped out when we had difficulty starting the inflating fan.

RE/MAX agents and local offices continue to contribute to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which passes 100 percent of the donations to Renown Hospital in Reno, this area's dedicated children's trauma facility. Another opportunity for balloon rides will be the RE/MAX Nevada Day Balloon Launch before the Nevada Day Parade. We anticipate 15-20 balloons again this year, but reservations are going fast.

Thanks again for such support from a caring Carson City Community.
