Runaway: The wagon and horses of Mr. Wood, the horticulturist, took flight with the only occupant being a

9 year old by the name of Jenkins. Little Jenkins laid flat in the bed of the wagon and as the vehicle neared Thaxter's drug store, quietly dropped himself out of the back of the wagon. The only injuries were scratches.

120 YEARS AGO

Old Yank: Clement, a pioneer of Lake Tahoe, better known as "Yank" died Sunday. He has been on the lake for thirty years and already passed 90 years. Well known by trotters from all parts of the world.

70 YEARS AGO

Advertisement: Carson Theater - "Seven Sinners" with Marlene Dietrich, John Wayne - "Destry" Dietrich is at it again! She makes a South Seas Typhoon look like a gentle breeze.

50 YEARS AGO

Leisure Hour Club: Mr. and Mrs. Peter Herlan museum curator and exhibits technician were guest speakers at the Leisure Hour Club and included a display of exhibits. The musical portion of the program was provided by Mrs. Art Bernard.

20 YEARS AGO

Carson City High School students honored for perfect attendance (in part): Stephanie Beck, Billy Borda, Scott Foster, Matthew Schultz, Doug Yezek, Jason Beaman, Paul Felesina, Craig Foster.

10 YEARS AGO

Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School teacher Miki Trujillo was able to plug her book "Why Can't We Talk" on the Oprah Winfrey Show. A film crew from the program was at Trujillo's home to tape her talking with teenagers who helped with the book.
