PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - Emmanuel Burris drove in two runs in the first inning with a double, and Travis Ishikawa and Brandon Belt each added run-scoring singles to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 6-4 win over the San Diego Padres on Friday night.
Tim Lincecum allowed three runs - one earned - in four innings of work for the Giants, who made three errors behind their ace. The lone earned run off Lincecum was a third-inning solo homer by Orlando Hudson.
Lincecum threw 62 pitches in his fourth outing of the spring.
Brewers 4, Athletics (ss) 3
PHOENIX (AP) - Yovani Gallardo has his eye on March 31 and the second opening day start of his career.
Gallardo kept building toward that honor Friday, giving up one run in 3 2-3 innings, and the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the split-squad Oakland Athletics 4-3.
"It felt good out there," Gallardo said. "I was falling behind some of the hitters in the first inning, but felt better after that and my fastball was coming out of my hand the way it did in my last start.
The Athletics tied it at 3 with two runs in the top of the eighth. Oakland starter Tyson Ross pitched three scoreless innings, allowing four hits while walking two and striking out one.
