Carson Performing Arts is in full swing with their spring musical, "Back to the '80s." It will be presented at the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Community Center.

Corey Sr., played by Band Director Jarod Sorum, looks back upon himself, played by Robbie Shouppe, in his high school senior year at William Ocean High School.

His great conflict is the battle for the girl next door, Tiffany (Whitney Giron) against the Big Man On Campus Michael (Nathaniel Crow).

Every character in the play has an iconic '80s character name like Alf Bueller (Jesse Toral) who, of course, takes a day off.

A Star Wars dream sequence, a Karate Kid inspired fight, Madonna parodies and all the actual, favorite music of the era is featured with a cast and crew of more than 50.

CHS Jazz Band, renamed "Andy Shabamm and the Flaming Widgets," performs the live music under Mr. Sorum's direction featuring Andy Sonnemaker, vocal director, at the keyboards.

Gina Davis provided the choreography full of running man and Michael Jackson moves.

Karen Chandler directed the show as well as designed the set full of Rubik's cubes.

Shows 7:30 p.m. March 25 and 26 and 2 p.m. March 27. Cost is $8-$10 at the door.
