Life isn't just about

the here and now

In response to Nikki Campbell, to start, it isn't about the here and now, it's about eternity. God says in his word that if we would seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, all these temporary things, like food, shelter, clothing, jobs, etc., shall be added unto those of us who do that. Read Matt. 6:33.

The addictions you mentioned, which are sin, will not, and cannot be solved by man-made programs that deny God and his solution for all mankind's ills. That's a fact.

The men and women working in these brothels have souls, another fact. Eternity after this life is final, fact. There are only two places to spend eternity, fact, heaven or hell, fact, and the choice of where we will spend it must be made in this temporary life, fact. Read Luke 16:19.

God is real, heaven is real and hell is real, fact, fact, fact. Jesus said of himself, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me," fact. John 14:6.

So truly repent, and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation, read and obey his word, and he will take care of your temporary needs. This is written to all who read it, for all have sinned. Rom. 3:23.

We are in a serious battle for our liberties

Lately we've heard all the punditry about Sharron Angle's constant campaign mode and unsuccessful runs for a multitude of offices. Too many in the GOP think wrongly about our state of affairs.

The GOP appears to like bettors at the race track wagering on a winning horse instead of citizens of a country being decimated by their out-of-control government. Failure to recognize the problem is the problem.

The correct Angle recognizes we are in a serious battle for our liberties and the pursuit of a well-lived life. We need to get serious about what to stand for in this constitutional republic of ours. Giving up is not an option. Perseverance is a quality not much sought after these days.

When the chips are down and you're all in, a man once said about a long ago war, "...we shall fight in France, ... on the seas and oceans, ... with growing confidence and growing strength in the air ... whatever the cost may be ... on the beaches ... on the landing grounds ... in the fields and in the streets ... in the hills; we shall never surrender."

This is not about a race. It's about keeping your grandfather's freedoms.

Past GOP leaders are rolling in their graves

The Republican party has been hijacked by ultra-conservative plutocrats whose sole purpose is to amass all the wealth. Their appetite for riches is insatiable, somewhat of an addiction. They have gone from being fiscally irresponsible to outright morally reprehensible.

Over the past 30 years, the rich have gotten overwhelmingly richer while the lower classes, poorer. The top 1 percent possess over 50 percent of America's wealth and resources.

To this end, the ultra-wealthy continue to press for more tax cuts while calling for budget cuts to government programs that provide for the common folk, the very people who built this country into a great nation, as well as America's infrastructure, environment, educational system, health care and much more. Their scheme is actually unsustainable in the long run and would bring the middle class to death by a thousand cuts.

Worse still is the utter hypocrisy of these greedy, unpatriotic merchants of despair. They wrap themselves in the flag, yet send jobs overseas. They preach family values, yet are quite unfaithful. They want tough law enforcement, yet cry for pardon when guilty themselves - not to mention the budget cuts to police departments which enforce the law. Duh!

The party of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower has degraded and debased itself to the point that those titans of leadership are rolling in their graves, muttering to themselves, "What balderdash!"
